Finviz is an online stock research platform that offers stock screeners, financial news, market research and more. Finviz, which is short for Financial Visualizations, is a good tool for finding investment ideas and helping you make better investment decisions. It is a great tool for scanning stocks, market data, stock charts and research. The company has trading and investing resources for all investors with technical and fundament data.

Finviz Pricing

Finviz offers a free version that you can access as a guest or a registered user. The free version has that has limited features, you get access to delayed market data and charts. If you register for an account you get the same access as the free version but you can save stocks to the portfolio tab.

Finviz Elite is the paid version of the tool. The cost of the Elite service is $39.50 a month or $24.96 per month billed yearly at $299.50. The Elite version has real-time data, pre-market data, backtests, intra-day charts, no advertisements, and more.

Finviz Features

News – You get access to the latest financial news from industry leading news and blogs from sources like, Bloomberg, Market Watch, Reuters, CNBC, and more. Finviz has a variety of article from multiple news sources in its newsfeed. This makes it easy for you to find the up to date news for the markets.

Screener – The Screener is an advanced tool, it gives investors and traders the ability to filter companies by descriptive, fundamental, and technical indicators. You can also filter stocks by market capitalization, valuation metrics, financial metrics, performance and more.

Maps – The Maps feature is a great way to see a summary of how the overall market of stocks is doing. The heat map covers the U.S. and global markets. The map filters include S&P 500, World, Full, and Exchange Traded Funds. You are able to look at the map with multiple time frames and indicators.

Groups – The Groups tab provides performance metrics from a number of time frames for nine different sectors. The tool allows you to filter through multiple groups including, sector, industry, country, and market capitalization.

Portfolio – The Portfolio tab allows you to make watchlist and track your own portfolio by recording what you buy and sell. You could also use this feature for simulated trading by recording the stock, transaction (buy or short sell), date, shares, and price as well. When you use the portfolio feature you get a stream of news articles about the stocks you are following in your portfolio tab. This feature is for registered users only.

Insider – The Insider features the latest insider trades at companies by looking at their SEC Form 4. The tool shows whether it was a buy, sell, option exercise, value, date and who made the transaction. It can be filtered to let you know, the latest insider trades, top insider trading recent week, and top 10% owner trading in recent weeks.

Futures – The Futures tab gives you a look at what is going on in the futures market. The tool lets you look at the futures with quotes, performance, and charts.

Forex – The Forex tab gives a snapshot of the forex market. It is color-coded to show the performance of the different currencies around the world. You can use the tool to look at certain currency pairs with quotes, charts, relative performance stats, and charts.

Crypto – The Crypto tab gives a snapshot multiple cryptocurrencies. It provides users with quotes and charts. It also has a relative performance chart shows which cryptocurrencies are under performing or outperforming.

Backtests – The Backtests tab helps you test investment ideas using historical data. It can help you make better investment decisions and maximize your returns. You can simulate your investment with technical indicators, compare your strategy to the S&P 500 index, and 24 years of historical data. Backtests are only available to Finviz Elite users.
